Day 1- Tanabe

Our Hike Today:

We left the house at about 0830 and returned to the house at 1130 h.. So we made a 3 hour hike (see below).  We were looking for a couple of dive shops to see if it was feasible for Laura to make a scuba dive while we are in Tanabe.  The short story is that no one at the one dive shop we encounted speaks any English and were not really interested in dealing with us - so no diving.  We thoroughly enjoyed the walk along the peninsula that skirts the Tenjin National Park... very beautiful coastline.

The outline of our hike this morning that took us inland across the Aizu river and out toward the point.  We came back along the coast which was really beautiful.

The morning dawned with overcast skies and 100 % relative humidity... Thankfully, we have AC at the house!  Laura was out for a walk early this morning- how early, I don't know because I was still asleep.

Don't know what we are doing today yet but we might take a walk around Tanabe and try and find a scuba diving opportunity for Laura.. More to come!!

Stone monument at Tokei temple... must be important but we don't know why?

Art/graffiti on the breakwater that is produced by an "art club".
